Summer Lake

Only a couple of hours east of the Rogue Valley, in the northern part of the Great Basin, there are a number of alkaline lakes. From partly to totally dry most of the year they are prime stops for migratory birds during the spring and fall. Summer Lake Hot Strings, near Paisley, OR is a nice base to explore the area from. We've visited a couple of times.
