Billy Gulch
Billy Gulch is on the west side of the Applegate River between Palmer Creek and Kinney Creek. The area from the Applegate River up to the crest of the ridge burned in the Burnt Peak fire of 2017. Six months later it is amazing to see the growth that is already occurring. Most of the area burned at a low severity level that left many trees and most ground vegetation unharmed. These pictures are on the south-facing slope above Billy Gulch at elevations ranging from 1600 feet to 2100 feet in an area that appears to have been thinned in the past few years.
